An Israeli airstrike on Monday night hit a residential house in the town of Kfar Dounin in southern Lebanon, killing six people and injuring seven others, according to Lebanese state media.
The strike is the latest in a series of near-daily attacks despite a US-brokered ceasefire agreement that has largely failed to stop hostilities. Lebanese authorities say hundreds have been killed since the truce period began, with Israel continuing its air operations across southern and eastern Lebanon.
Following the attack, Israeli forces issued new evacuation warnings targeting several towns in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley, signaling further military action may be imminent. Additional reports indicated that infrastructure, including a water pumping station near the Litani River, was destroyed, along with residential buildings in border areas.
Residents in affected regions remain divided between displacement and staying put, despite rising fears of continued escalation.
Diplomatic efforts are ongoing, with Lebanese and Israeli officials expected to meet in Washington later this week to discuss the fragile ceasefire framework. However, expectations remain low for any breakthrough, as tensions between the two sides continue to rise.
