A reported Iranian missile incident near a US-operated air base in Kuwait has left several American personnel with minor injuries and caused damage to military equipment, according to Bloomberg, which cited informed sources.
The report claims that approximately five individuals—including US service members and contractors—were injured after debris from an intercepted missile fell on the Ali Al Salem Air Base. The base is used by US forces stationed in Kuwait.
Two MQ-9 Reaper drones were also reportedly affected, with one destroyed and another severely damaged. Each drone is estimated to be worth around $30 million.
According to the report, Kuwaiti air defenses intercepted an incoming Fateh-110 ballistic missile launched from Iran, preventing a direct hit. However, falling fragments allegedly struck the base, resulting in casualties and equipment damage.
Tensions between the United States and Iran have remained high in recent months. The US military’s Central Command (CENTCOM) described the incident as a violation of a ceasefire arrangement, while Iranian authorities have maintained that their actions were in response to earlier US military activity in the region.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has previously stated that its operations target US positions used in what it describes as aggression against Iran, warning of further retaliation if attacks continue.
The situation adds to ongoing instability across the Gulf region, where military exchanges and drone activity have intensified amid broader geopolitical tensions involving Iran, the United States, and their regional allies.
