At least four people were killed and eight others injured after a teenage gunman opened fire near the southern Turkish city of Mersin, according to local media reports.
The attack reportedly began inside a restaurant in the Tarsus area, where two victims were shot dead before the gunman continued the assault in other locations. Authorities said the suspect later fled the scene in a vehicle.
Turkish police launched a large-scale manhunt involving helicopters and security teams to track down the attacker, who was identified by local reports as a 17-year-old armed with a shotgun.
The incident comes amid growing concerns over gun violence in Turkey following two separate shooting attacks carried out by teenagers last month. Those attacks left several people dead and many others injured, including schoolchildren.
Security agencies are continuing investigations into the latest shooting as officials work to determine the motive behind the attack.
