It seems impossible to separate Nurcholish Madjid's name from talking about Islam in Indonesia or even about Indonesia as a whole. Since almost five decades ago, when he was relatively young, several papers, books, even doctoral dissertations were written about him.
He himself has never written a complete book - until the end of his life except perhaps Indonesia Kita. However, a number of nonbooks, books from the collection of his writings, which are now stored in the "Archive Portal of Nurcholish Madjid", received very impressive responses. Some of them are printed several times in a relatively short time.
This reflects the broader appreciation of people for their thoughts. And until now, his attitudes and views are still being heard.
"Archive Portal by Nurcholish Madjid" was originally conceived and carried out by Budhy Munawar-Rachman and Mirwan Andan, then developed by Inspirasi.co at the cost of Denny J.A, and several other parties. Now the portal is managed by Nurcholish Madjid Society (NCMS). Editor in Chief: Budhy Munawar-Rachman, with members Muhammad Wahyuni Nafis and Elza Peldi Taher.
The portal was developed to document all Nurcholish's works, both those that have been published and those that have not. From complete documentation of Nurcholish's thoughts, it is hoped that other popular media can be creatively developed.
