Customs Appoints Mamman Ali as Acting Comptroller for Adamawa, Taraba

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has appointed Deputy Comptroller Mamman Ali as the Acting Area Comptroller of the Adamawa/Taraba Command.

Ali takes over from Mohammed Tako, who has been elevated to the position of Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs, overseeing Zone B, Kaduna.

Before his new appointment, Ali served as the Coordinator of Operation Whirlwind, Zone E, the Customs Service's anti-smuggling operation.

During the handover ceremony held in Yola on Monday, Tako highlighted the achievements recorded by the command during his one-year tenure, despite the challenges associated with strict border closure policies.

He noted that the command strengthened security operations along strategic border routes through increased patrols and joint operations with other security agencies.

Tako further revealed that the command recorded seizures with a total Duty Paid Value (DPV) of ₦535.97 million during his time in office.

He commended officers and personnel for their cooperation and dedication, urging them to extend the same support to the new acting comptroller.

In his response, Ali pledged to sustain and improve on the achievements of the outgoing comptroller.

He also called for stronger collaboration among security agencies and Customs personnel to enhance border surveillance and tackle smuggling activities across Adamawa and Taraba states.
