U.S. President Donald Trump has given his executive assistant, Natalie Harp, a $45,000 cash gift, according to U.S. media reports.
Two other White House employees, Margo Martin and Chamberlain Harris, reportedly received similar payments, The Washington Post reported, citing financial disclosure forms.
The payments were described in the disclosures as “Cash Gift for Holidays.”
Harp has remained a prominent figure alongside Trump during his second term, frequently assisting him with administrative tasks, including typing social media posts and printing information. Her close involvement with the president has earned her the nickname “the human printer.”
According to an annual report to Congress, Harp earns $150,000 annually as a special assistant and executive assistant to the president.
A White House spokesperson defended the payments, saying Trump has a longstanding practice of giving holiday gifts to people around him, including employees and aides.
The spokesperson added that the gifts were unrelated to the recipients’ official duties and were therefore considered permissible under applicable legal and ethical rules.
