Sen. Sunday Marshall Katung (APC/Kaduna South) has offered full scholarships to two female First-Class Law graduates of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, to enable them to attend Law School.
The beneficiaries, Shimanh Sabo from Kauru Local Government Area and Rosemary Mamman from Sanga Local Government Area, received the scholarship offers when Katung hosted them at the National Assembly in Abuja on Friday.
According to a statement by the senator’s Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Midat Joseph, Katung congratulated the graduates on their outstanding academic achievements.
He described the two graduates as “a source of pride and worthy ambassadors of Southern Kaduna,” adding that the scholarship would cover their Law School fees in full.
Katung, who is also a lawyer, said the intervention was part of his continued investment in education, including local and international scholarships, school infrastructure and support for indigent students across Kaduna South.
He also highlighted girl-child education as an important part of his human capital development agenda, stressing the intellectual potential of young people, particularly women, in Southern Kaduna.
“Your First Class from ABU is not just your personal victory; it is our collective pride. You have shown that our daughters can compete and lead anywhere. My duty is to ensure that nothing stops you from being called to the Bar,” Katung said.
He urged the beneficiaries to maintain their academic excellence and continue to make Southern Kaduna proud throughout their Law School programme and beyond.
The two graduates expressed appreciation to the senator for the scholarship and his support for education, promising to be worthy ambassadors of Kaduna South.
