Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, has said that the era of foreign domination that Iran’s enemies seek to restore is over and will never return.
Khamenei made the remarks in a message on Monday marking Iran’s Sacred Defense Week, which commemorates the beginning of the 1980–1988 Iran-Iraq war, as well as the second anniversary of the assassination of former Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
He said that southern Iran’s waters were once treated as a “playground” by enemy forces, but that they now avoid venturing beyond the Arabian Sea following what he described as painful blows inflicted by Iranian forces and defenders of the Strait of Hormuz.
The Iranian leader further stated that whenever foreign forces had taken the risk of entering the area, they had suffered losses.
He added that it would not be long before the Arabian Sea was also cleared of their presence.
