JAMB Reopens CAPS, Urges Institutions to Speed Up Admission Process

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the restoration of its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) after a temporary disruption.

In a statement on Monday, JAMB said CAPS had been fully restored and was now operational, urging tertiary institutions to accelerate their admission processes to make up for lost time and meet the approved deadlines.

The board also advised candidates who receive admission offers to accept them promptly.

JAMB stated that the deadline for the 2026/2027 admission exercise is October 31, 2026, for public universities, while private universities have until November 30, 2026. Other tertiary institutions have until December 31, 2026 to complete their admission processes.

Following the release of the 2026 NECO Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results, JAMB also urged candidates who had previously been awaiting their results to upload or verify their credentials promptly.

According to the board, this will ensure that candidates' results and credentials are available for consideration as institutions intensify their admission exercises.

JAMB expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the temporary CAPS disruption and thanked candidates, institutions and other stakeholders for their patience and understanding.

The board urged all stakeholders to take advantage of the restoration of CAPS and complete the admission process within the approved timelines.
