President Donald Trump was secretly flown out of Turkey last month after Israel warned the United States of a possible Iranian missile attack targeting Air Force One, according to a source briefed on the matter.
Israeli intelligence reportedly identified a potential threat and shared the information with U.S. authorities. Following the warning, Trump was transported on a separate aircraft, while Air Force One flew independently.
The Washington Post first reported the development.
Asked about the incident on Tuesday, Trump said he was following instructions from the U.S. Secret Service.
The revelation comes amid heightened tensions between the United States and Iran, as efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz continue amid uncertain and intermittent negotiations.
