Nigeria’s headline inflation rate declined to 15.43 percent in July 2026, down from 15.91 percent recorded in June, according to the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) report released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
The NBS disclosed the figure on Monday, August 17, 2026, stating that the July inflation rate also represents a significant decline compared with the 24.94 percent recorded in July 2025.
The latest figures indicate a continued moderation in Nigeria’s headline inflation rate, although prices of goods and services remain a major concern for households and businesses across the country.
The NBS is expected to provide further details on the factors behind the latest inflation movement in its full CPI report.
