Iran, India Discuss Expanding Monetary and Banking Cooperation

Senior banking officials from Iran and India have discussed ways to strengthen monetary and banking cooperation between the two countries.

During a meeting held on the sidelines of a BRICS gathering, Iran’s banking officials and India’s representatives exchanged views on major international economic and financial developments, as well as opportunities to enhance cooperation between their banking systems.

The two sides emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation, making greater use of multilateral financial mechanisms, and maintaining regular consultations between their central banks.

They also discussed measures to facilitate trade and economic exchanges between Iran and India.

The meeting was part of broader efforts among BRICS member countries to strengthen economic and financial coordination and respond more effectively to developments in the global economy.
