Members of the Arewa Youth Assembly have commended President Bola Tinubu for establishing the Nigerian Army’s 10th Division in Taraba State.
The youths staged a solidarity rally in Jalingo, the state capital, on Wednesday, describing the new military formation as a strategic move that would strengthen security operations across Taraba and the wider North-East.
Speaking during the rally, the group’s spokesperson, Aliyu Mohammad Sani, said the establishment of the division demonstrated the Federal Government’s commitment to tackling insecurity in the region.
He described the new division as an important security reinforcement for Taraba and neighbouring communities, noting that residents had long called for stronger military presence to address security challenges.
Sani also praised the Federal Government for increasing the salaries of military personnel, describing the move as a morale booster for troops serving in frontline areas.
He further commended the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Army Staff for their efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture.
According to him, the creation of the new division has renewed residents’ confidence in ongoing efforts to improve security across the region.
Also speaking, spokesperson for the Taraba People’s Movement, Comrade Umar Sani Bello, said the solidarity march was organised to appreciate the Federal Government for establishing the military formation.
Bello said the development had renewed hope for improved security in Taraba, adding that residents were ready to cooperate with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to strengthen security operations across the state.
