The Federal Government has announced that another 65 Nigerians will return from South Africa on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, following recent concerns over attacks and discrimination against foreigners in the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed this in a statement posted on its official X account on Tuesday.
According to the ministry, the 65 Nigerians, whose repatriation was sponsored by private individuals, will depart from Oliver Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg at 3:30 p.m. local time aboard South African Airways.
The ministry said the returnees are expected to arrive at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at 8:45 p.m. on the same day.
The latest repatriation comes amid reports of renewed anti-foreigner attacks and discrimination in South Africa.
Last week, the Federal Government announced the return of 83 Nigerians from South Africa. That group was also repatriated with financial support from concerned private individuals.
The government has continued to monitor the situation and provide assistance to Nigerians affected by the developments in South Africa.
