A 25-year-old man, Moh’d Musa, has been stabbed to death during a fight in the Bayan Bata area of Bauchi metropolis.
The Bauchi State Police Command confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Sunday by its spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib.
According to the police, the incident occurred at about 11:00 p.m. on August 22, 2026, after a fight broke out between Musa and Abubakar Abdullahi, popularly known as Dan Iya.
During the argument, the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Musa.
The victim was immediately rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, where a doctor on duty confirmed him dead.
Police operatives from the ‘A’ Division Township responded quickly, arrested the suspect and recovered the knife allegedly used in the attack.
The victim’s body was deposited at the hospital mortuary for an autopsy.
The police said the suspect remains in custody while investigations continue. The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, ordered a thorough investigation to ensure that justice is served.
The police also urged residents to avoid violence and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
