At least six Palestinians were killed in separate Israeli air strikes and gunfire across the Gaza Strip on Thursday, despite a United States-brokered ceasefire that has largely halted full-scale fighting, according to Gaza health officials and the Civil Defence agency.
Two people were killed when an Israeli drone struck the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, while four others died in separate attacks in Khan Younis and Gaza City. Several others were reportedly injured.
The latest violence came a day after an air strike hit a humanitarian vehicle transporting aid in Gaza, killing Ahmad Nasser Saleem, a driver working with the World Central Kitchen (WCK). The international aid organisation condemned the attack, stressing that humanitarian workers and aid deliveries must never be targeted, and called for a full investigation.
Although Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire in October 2025, Gaza health authorities say more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes since the truce began. The ministry also reports that over 73,000 Palestinians have died since the war started in October 2023.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate. Health officials warn that laboratories and blood banks are on the verge of shutting down due to severe shortages of medical supplies, threatening essential healthcare services.
Meanwhile, Hamas chief negotiator Khalil al-Hayya has arrived in Cairo for renewed ceasefire negotiations. Talks remain stalled over unresolved issues, including Hamas's disarmament and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.
