IRGC Says It Targeted US Fifth Fleet Headquarters in Bahrain, Airbase in Jordan

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it carried out missile and drone strikes on multiple US military facilities in Bahrain, including the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet, as well as an American airbase in Jordan, describing the attacks as retaliation for what it called continued US violations against Iran.

In a series of statements issued on Tuesday, the IRGC said its naval forces struck weapons depots, satellite communications facilities, troop accommodation, and radar systems in Bahrain. It also claimed its Aerospace Force launched coordinated missile and drone attacks that hit the US Fifth Fleet headquarters, fuel storage facilities, and several air defense radar systems.

The IRGC further said it carried out ballistic missile strikes against what it described as a key US military installation in Jordan, alleging the base had been used to launch attacks against Iran. The group emphasized that its operations were directed at US military targets and not the Jordanian people.

According to the IRGC, the latest attacks are part of its ongoing response to what it describes as repeated US military actions despite a Pakistan-mediated memorandum of understanding signed last month aimed at reducing hostilities.

The United States has not immediately commented on the Iranian claims, and the reported strikes and the extent of any damage or casualties could not be independently verified.

The latest developments come amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States over security in the Strait of Hormuz and a series of recent military confrontations across the region.
