Ukraine says it has carried out drone attacks on two Russian oil refineries as part of its ongoing campaign against Russia’s energy infrastructure.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said long-range drones targeted the Slavyansk and Yaroslavl oil refineries, located hundreds of kilometres from the front line.
Russian officials confirmed drone attacks in several regions, reporting deaths, damage to facilities, and emergency responses. Authorities said a fire broke out at the Slavyansk refinery, while other areas experienced drone-related incidents.
Russia’s defence officials said they intercepted more than 100 Ukrainian drones and claimed continued military advances on the battlefield.
The attacks come as Ukraine increases strikes on Russian fuel facilities, aiming to reduce resources supporting Moscow’s war effort. Russia says it remains ready for peace talks but insists negotiations must consider its previous demands.
The war between Russia and Ukraine continues as both sides exchange attacks.
