Russian Strikes Across Ukraine Leave Eight Dead, Dozens Injured

At least eight people have been killed and dozens more injured after a series of Russian missile and drone attacks across several Ukrainian regions, Ukrainian officials said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attacks as “horrific” and called on international partners to strengthen Ukraine’s air defence systems.

Officials said a missile strike on the city of Dnipro killed at least five people and injured 28 others. The attack damaged buildings, leaving shattered windows and widespread destruction.

Regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha said one of the victims was a 13-year-old girl, adding that many of the injured suffered head injuries, shrapnel wounds, fractures and blast-related trauma.

In Zaporizhzhia, another drone attack killed three people and injured several others, including a child, according to Zelenskyy. The city is located close to the front line.

Ukraine said Russia also launched strikes in the Sumy, Odesa, Chernihiv, Kherson and Kharkiv regions.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin said Russia’s conditions for a possible peace agreement remain unchanged. Moscow continues to demand that Ukraine withdraw from four regions claimed by Russia and abandon plans to join NATO.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said fighting would continue as Russia seeks full control of the regions it claims, rejecting proposals for limits on long-range strikes.
