The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has reached a partnership with Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited that will provide scholarships and job opportunities for Nigerian students and graduates.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between NANS leadership, led by President Comrade Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, and the Managing Director of Tantita, High Chief Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi.
Under the deal, Tantita approved:
Local and international scholarships for students
Employment opportunities for graduates and stakeholders
Mobility support for NANS leadership.
NANS described Nigerian students as key contributors to national development and praised Tantita for its role in protecting oil infrastructure and supporting economic stability.
The association also defended Tantita against calls for the federal government to cancel its contract, saying the company has contributed to security, job creation, and community development in the Niger Delta.
In response, Pondi reaffirmed Tantita’s commitment to youth empowerment and national development. He highlighted the company’s efforts in fighting crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism, and illegal bunkering using advanced surveillance and intelligence systems.
He also confirmed approval of scholarship support and job opportunities, adding that the company will continue to support education and youth development initiatives across Nigeria.
The partnership is expected to create new educational and employment opportunities for Nigerian students and strengthen private-sector involvement in youth empowerment.
