Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that Iran will not accept what he described as “excessive demands” from the United States, stressing that the country remains committed to defending its national interests and restoring its rights through diplomatic channels.
Speaking at a meeting with members of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce on Monday, Pezeshkian said Iran is facing continued external pressure, which he characterized as economic warfare following earlier military setbacks.
He emphasized that Iran will resist all forms of pressure and will not yield under any circumstances, adding that Iranian negotiators are working to ensure the country’s full rights are recognized in ongoing diplomatic engagements.
The president also highlighted the role of the private sector in maintaining economic stability, describing business leaders and producers as key actors in what he called a broader “economic front” amid a hybrid conflict.
According to him, cooperation between the government and the private sector has helped prevent major market disruptions and ensured the steady supply of essential goods despite challenging conditions.
Pezeshkian further claimed that external adversaries, after failing to achieve their objectives through military means, have shifted focus toward economic pressure. He added that Iran’s domestic resilience and coordination between institutions have helped the country manage the situation effectively.
The remarks come amid ongoing regional tensions and continued diplomatic maneuvering involving Iran and the United States.
