Iran has delivered its response to a United States proposal aimed at ending the ongoing conflict, using Pakistan as a mediator, according to Iran’s state news agency IRNA.
The report stated that the proposed framework would begin with negotiations focused on halting hostilities before moving to broader discussions.
Speaking from Islamabad, Al Jazeera correspondent Kamal Hyder said Pakistani officials confirmed they had received Tehran’s response and were expected to pass it on to Washington.
Attention is now turning to how quickly the message will reach US officials and what reaction may follow from the White House as diplomatic efforts continue amid regional tensions in the Strait of Hormuz.
