The most powerful dua for shifā (healing) in Islam is the one taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ because it combines strong meaning, correct belief, and complete trust in Allah as the only Healer.
There is no “more powerful” dua than another in itself—the power is in sincerity and Allah’s mercy—but the most authentic and جامع (comprehensive) dua for shifā (healing) from the Prophet ﷺ is this:
Most Powerful Dua for Shifā (Healing)
Transliteration:
Allahumma rabban-nās, adhhib al-ba’s, ishfi anta ash-shāfī, lā shifā’a illā shifā’uk, shifā’an lā yughādiru saqaman.
Meaning: O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the harm and cure (this person). You are the Healer. There is no cure except Your cure, a healing that leaves no illness behind.
Why this is considered the strongest dua for healing.
It is directly from the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
It names Allah as “Ash-Shāfī” (The Only Healer)
It asks for complete healing, not temporary relief
It removes reliance on anything except Allah
Another very powerful short dua
Arabic: أَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ الْعَظِيمَ، رَبَّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ، أَنْ يَشْفِيَكَ
Transliteration:
As’alullāha al-‘Aẓīm, Rabbal-‘Arshil-‘Aẓīm, an yashfiyak.
Meaning:
I ask Allah the Most Great, Lord of the Mighty Throne, to cure you.
Simple advice when making dua for shifā.
Repeat with full belief in Allah
Place your hand on the sick person (if appropriate)
Say the name of the person in the dua
Be patient—accepting Allah’s timing is part of healing.
