2026 UTME: JAMB Releases First Batch Results, Announces SMS Checking Procedure

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the first batch of results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), providing candidates with a simple process to check their scores.

According to the board, candidates can access their results באמצעות a dedicated SMS service. To check results, candidates are required to send “UTMERESULT” as a text message to either 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration.

JAMB emphasized that candidates must have a minimum airtime balance of ₦50 to use the service. The board also clarified that results are being released in phases, meaning not all candidates will receive their results at the same time.

The examination body warned candidates to avoid fraudulent websites and individuals claiming to assist with result upgrades, stressing that the SMS method remains the only official channel currently available for checking results.

Candidates may receive different responses after sending the SMS, including their scores, notifications that results are withheld for review, absence notices, or error messages if the wrong phone number is used.

JAMB added that further updates, including access to result printing, will be communicated in due course as the release process continues.
