Tahajjud is a special voluntary night prayer in Islam performed after sleeping and before Fajr. It is a powerful time to make du’a and seek closeness to Allah. 🌙🤲
1️⃣ Make the Intention (Niyyah)
Have the intention in your heart that you want to pray Tahajjud for the sake of Allah. You do not need to say it aloud.
2️⃣ Sleep First (Recommended)
Tahajjud is best performed after you sleep for some time and then wake up during the night.
3️⃣ Wake Up in the Last Third of the Night
The best time for Tahajjud is the last third of the night, before the Fajr prayer.
4️⃣ Perform Wudu (Ablution)
Make sure you are in a state of purity by performing wudu.
5️⃣ Pray at Least Two Rak’ah
Tahajjud is prayed in sets of two rak’ahs.
Minimum: 2 rak’ah
Common: 4, 6, or 8 rak’ah
You can pray more if you wish.
Example:
Pray 2 rak’ah
Say Tasleem (Salam)
Pray another 2 rak’ah
6️⃣ Recite Any Surah
In each rak’ah:
1. Recite Surah Al-Fatiha
2. Recite any other Surah from the Qur’an
7️⃣ Make Long Du’a.
After finishing the prayer, raise your hands and make sincere du’a to Allah. This is one of the best times when du’a is accepted. 🤲
8️⃣ Pray Witr.
It is recommended to finish the night prayer with Witr (usually 1 or 3 rak’ah).
✅ Simple Example Routine
