2027 Election: Jigawa Speaker Urges Residents to Vote for Tinubu, Describes Support as Important

The Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Haruna Dangyatin, has called on residents of the state to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and vote for him in the 2027 general elections.

Dangyatin made the appeal on Saturday during the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential and governorship campaign council in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.

According to him, supporting Tinubu goes beyond ordinary political considerations, describing it as a responsibility that Muslims in the state should take seriously because of the President's religious background, his Muslim running mate and what he considers the administration's support for Northern Nigeria.

The Speaker also recalled Tinubu's contributions towards the emergence of former President Muhammadu Buhari, arguing that the North should reciprocate the political support by standing behind the current President.

He described Tinubu as a leader who understands the interests of Jigawa State and expressed satisfaction that the President was expected to visit the state after it was initially left out of his campaign itinerary.

Dangyatin therefore urged residents to support Tinubu and other APC candidates during the forthcoming elections.

Speaking on the party's preparations, he expressed confidence in the APC's political strength in Jigawa, pointing to the participation of former governors, senators, federal lawmakers and other influential political figures at the inauguration.

He said the impressive turnout demonstrated the party's growing political presence and organisational strength across the state.

The Speaker, who also serves as the Jigawa coordinator of the City Boy Movement, disclosed that the group would intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.

He explained that members would embark on house-to-house campaigns across communities to educate residents about the policies and activities of President Tinubu and Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi.

Dangyatin said the movement was determined to expand its reach and strengthen support for the APC at the grassroots level.

The 2027 general elections are expected to generate intense political activities as parties and political leaders begin preparations to win the support of voters across the country.
