Non-indigenes in Kaduna State, under the aegis of the Kaduna State Association of Non-Indigenes Support Group for the All Progressives Congress (APC), have declared their support for President Bola Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group made its position known on Saturday during a mega rally in Kaduna themed, “Together as One, We Stand for Uba Sani – Our Man.”
The rally began around 9am from the Kigo Road area, where many non-indigenous residents live, and proceeded through Constitution Road and Ahmadu Bello Way before ending at the APC secretariat along Muhammadu Buhari Way, formerly known as WAFF Road.
The event attracted leaders and members of various ethnic associations in the state, who marched through the streets displaying placards and banners in support of the APC administration.
Addressing the gathering on behalf of Governor Uba Sani, his running mate for the 2027 governorship election, Comrade Jerry Adams, said the administration was committed to treating all residents equally, regardless of their ethnic or religious backgrounds.
Adams, a former Chairman of the Kaduna State Revenue Service, said the governor had demonstrated through his policies and programmes that Kaduna belonged to everyone living and conducting legitimate business in the state.
He said the government was committed to protecting residents, their businesses and properties.
Adams urged the non-indigenes to continue supporting the administration and mobilise their families, friends and communities ahead of the 2027 elections.
He also called on the participants to support the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu, saying both the state and federal administrations were committed to improving the lives of Nigerians.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Jaba Local Government Area, Larai Ishaku, highlighted government programmes aimed at improving the welfare and economic well-being of residents.
She particularly cited support for businesses and other interventions designed to improve livelihoods, urging residents to continue supporting programmes aimed at promoting good governance and improving their standard of living.
Earlier, one of the rally's conveners, Chief John Nwankwere, said the event was organised to demonstrate the support of non-indigenous communities for the APC administration.
Nwankwere reaffirmed the commitment of the participating groups to the party and said the communities would continue mobilising support for the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
Similarly, the Chairman of the Political Committee of Ndigbos in Kaduna State, Chief Patrick Lawson, said members of the Igbo community remained committed to peaceful coexistence and participation in the political process.
The rally ended with leaders of the participating ethnic associations reaffirming their support for Governor Uba Sani and President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
