Israeli Settlers Attack Palestinian Farmers in West Bank

Israeli settlers, reportedly under the protection of Israeli soldiers, attacked Palestinian olive pickers, damaged homes and vehicles, and burned olive trees in several areas of the occupied West Bank on Saturday.

The attacks were reported in the villages of Abu Dis and Osarin, as well as Awarta and Beita near Nablus, during the olive harvest season.

An activist from California who was volunteering with Palestinian communities said about 50 masked settlers arrived at an olive grove, threw stones and attacked a Palestinian home. Shortly afterwards, Israeli soldiers arrived, rounded up Palestinian farmers and activists, held them at gunpoint and ordered the activists to leave the area.

Journalists Also Assaulted

Al Jazeera reported that Israeli forces detained and assaulted journalists in the Jabal Qamass area of Beita, south of Nablus.

Footage showed settlers damaging a Palestinian vehicle in Osarin, while other videos appeared to show armed settlers attacking a Palestinian home in Beita.

According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, settlers also fired tear gas at Palestinians and journalists, attacked homes, threw stones at vehicles and assaulted residents.

Palestinian media reported that some residents attempted to resist the attacks.

Al Jazeera said the incidents are part of a broader escalation of settler attacks against Palestinians across the West Bank.

According to Palestinian authorities cited by Al Jazeera, 30 Palestinians have been killed by settlers in the West Bank since the beginning of 2026, the highest annual figure since 2022.
