President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Lagos after concluding his working vacation in France.
The President arrived at the presidential wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, on Tuesday, where he was received by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other dignitaries.
Tinubu’s arrival was confirmed by his Special Assistant on Social Media, Olusegun Dada, who wrote on X, “Landing. Welcome home Mr President!”
The President departed Abuja on August 30 for his working vacation, spending one week in London before travelling to Paris.
According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu left Paris for Lagos, where he is expected to hold strategic meetings with political leaders and associates.
The statement said the meetings would take place over several days as preparations begin for the 2027 elections.
The Presidency also said Tinubu chose to return first to Lagos to honour the memory of the late Chief MKO Abiola, who won the June 1993 presidential election and played a prominent role in Nigeria’s democratic struggle.
On October 1, Independence Day, Tinubu is expected to attend the premiere of a movie celebrating Abiola at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos.
During his working vacation, Tinubu also held a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris.
