TECNO’s Camon 50 Ultra 5G is gaining attention in the upper mid-range smartphone market with a combination of a large 6,500mAh battery, curved AMOLED display, durable construction and a dedicated 3x telephoto camera.
According to a review published by AndroidGuys on September 18, 2026, the smartphone measures just 7.75mm thick despite carrying a large battery. It features a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, although the phone normally operates at 120Hz during everyday use.
The device is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400 Ultimate processor and comes with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM, while storage options include 256GB and 512GB. The review found the phone capable of handling everyday activities such as browsing, social media, streaming and multitasking, although demanding games may require moderate graphics settings.
Durability is another major feature. The Camon 50 Ultra 5G carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for protection against dust and water, alongside MIL-STD-810H compliance.
For photography, the phone has a 50MP Sony main camera with optical image stabilization, a 50MP 3x telephoto camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera. A 50MP autofocus front camera is also included. The review praised the main and telephoto cameras but described the 8MP ultrawide camera as the weaker part of the setup.
The 6,500mAh battery is one of the phone’s major strengths. Testing cited in the review recorded around 16 hours of active use, while video playback reached about 24 hours. The phone supports 45W wired charging, with a full charge taking roughly 80 minutes. It does not support wireless charging.
The Camon 50 Ultra 5G runs Android 16 with TECNO’s HiOS 16 interface. TECNO promises three major Android updates and five years of security updates. The phone also includes a programmable One-Tap AI Key and several AI-powered features, including call translation, text summarisation and photo object removal.
Connectivity features include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, dual-SIM support, eSIM and USB-C. An infrared transmitter is also included, allowing the phone to control compatible electronic devices.
The 8GB/256GB model is listed at around €400 in Europe, while international pricing is reported at approximately $430 to $450, depending on the market.
Overall, the review gave the TECNO Camon 50 Ultra 5G a score of 4 out of 5, highlighting its battery capacity, durability, display and telephoto camera while noting its slower 45W charging, weaker ultrawide camera, lack of wireless charging and mid-range gaming performance.
