Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is under investigation in France over an alleged conflict of interest involving his roles as PSG chairman and chairman of beIN Media Group.
Paris prosecutors confirmed the investigation on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
According to reports, the investigation concerns a meeting held in July 2024 between Al-Khelaifi and representatives of France’s professional football league regarding broadcasting rights.
The meeting took place a day after beIN Sports submitted a €100 million bid for the rights to broadcast one Ligue 1 match per week.
The French professional football league later accepted the offer.
The investigation followed a complaint by anti-corruption organisation Anticor and has been assigned to France’s anti-corruption and financial police.
Anticor alleges that Al-Khelaifi participated in discussions concerning the approval of beIN Sports’ bid while also serving as chairman of the media company, raising concerns over a potential conflict of interest.
No conclusion of wrongdoing has been established by the investigation.
