Nigerian Navy Opens 2026 Recruitment, Applications Begin October 2

The Nigerian Navy has commenced recruitment for the 2026 Batch 39 Basic Training School, with online applications scheduled to open on October 2 and close on October 31, 2026.

The Navy announced the recruitment in its guidelines published on its official X handle on Monday, directing eligible Nigerians to apply through its official recruitment portal.

Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth, possess a National Identification Number (NIN), and meet the required educational, age, physical and medical standards.

According to the guidelines, candidates must be physically, medically and psychologically fit and must have no previous criminal conviction. They must also meet the minimum height requirements of 1.69 metres for males and 1.65 metres for females.

For applicants using O’Level qualifications, candidates must be aged between 18 and 22 years as of December 31, 2026, and possess at least five credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than two sittings.

The Navy stated that separate age and qualification requirements apply to applicants with OND and NCE certificates, as well as tradesmen, medical professionals and sportsmen and women.

Successful applicants who complete the online registration are required to print their acknowledgement slip, parent or guardian consent form, Local Government attestation form and guarantor’s certification form.

The date and venues for the recruitment examination will be communicated to eligible applicants at a later date.

The Navy warned applicants against paying money to individuals claiming to have the ability to facilitate recruitment, stressing that the entire recruitment exercise is free of charge.

It also cautioned applicants that only one application is permitted, adding that multiple applications would lead to disqualification.

Applicants must also be able to communicate in basic English, as inability to do so may result in disqualification at any stage of the recruitment process.

Interested candidates are advised to visit the Nigerian Navy’s official recruitment portal when registration opens on October 2, 2026, for further details and application procedures.
