The Lagos State University (LASU) has announced the commencement of applications for the 2026/2027 student loan scheme administered by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
The university disclosed this in a statement posted on its official X account on Sunday, urging eligible students to take advantage of the Federal Government’s intervention and submit their applications before the December 31, 2026 deadline.
According to LASU, the application portal opened on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, and will close on Thursday, December 31, 2026.
The university said applicants must be duly registered LASU students and possess valid Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration numbers, National Identification Numbers (NIN) and Bank Verification Numbers (BVN).
Students are also required to ensure that their matriculation numbers, departments and other institutional records are correctly uploaded and updated on the university portal.
LASU further advised applicants to verify their JAMB details before submitting their applications.
The university warned that discrepancies or mismatched information could result in disqualification or delays in processing applications.
Students experiencing difficulties with the verification or updating of their records were advised to visit the Directorate of ICT or Special Interventions for assistance.
LASU urged all eligible students to complete their applications within the stipulated deadline.
