Marafa Vows to End Zamfara Banditry Within First Term or Resign

Prominent Zamfara politician and former Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa has vowed to end banditry and insecurity in Zamfara State within his first term if elected governor in the 2027 elections.

Marafa, who is contesting the governorship election under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), said he would take the fight directly to the hideouts of bandits and address insecurity with seriousness.

He said the problem of banditry could be tackled within a short period if the authorities gave it the necessary attention and commitment.

“I will either end banditry in my first tenure in office or resign,” Marafa said.

He further stated that, if elected governor, he would ensure that insecurity in the state was brought to an end within two years.

“I was a commissioner in the state and a senator at the National Assembly for many years. As such, I am conversant with the problems affecting my state, as well as the country in general,” he said.

Marafa also promised to focus on key sectors of the state’s economy, particularly areas that directly affect women, children and young people.

He urged Zamfara residents to support him and other ADC candidates in the 2027 elections, saying his administration would work to improve the welfare of residents and deliver the benefits of democracy.
