Saudi Arabia Condemns Deadly Attacks in Niger’s Capital.

Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the attacks carried out in Niger’s capital, Niamey, and expressed solidarity with the country’s government and people.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the Kingdom rejected the attacks, which targeted the airport and the presidency early Saturday. The clashes reportedly involved mutinous soldiers and resulted in hours of gunfire and explosions, while state television and radio were briefly taken off the air.

In a statement, the ministry reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s support for efforts aimed at protecting Niger’s security, sovereignty and stability. It also stressed the importance of safeguarding the country’s resources from interference by rebel groups.

Saudi Arabia expressed hope that Niger would continue to enjoy peace, security and prosperity.
