Niger Says Armed Forces Are Regaining Control of Sites Attacked in Niamey

Niger’s Defence Ministry says the country’s armed forces are gradually regaining control of locations targeted during an overnight attack in the capital, Niamey.

According to a statement read on state television, the military is progressively retaking the sites affected by the attack.

State television resumed broadcasting on Saturday after temporarily going off air.

The Defence Ministry did not provide further details about the attackers or the extent of the damage and casualties in the statement.
