The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has approved five airlines to transport Nigerian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage.
The commission announced that the airlines were selected following a screening and evaluation process conducted by its aviation screening committee.
The approved airlines are Air Peace Limited, Flynas, Max Air Limited, Saudi Air, and UMZA Aviation Services Limited.
NAHCON said the selection was based on key requirements, including aviation safety standards, operational capacity, and financial capability.
The commission added that the airlines’ engagement would be subject to the signing of airlift agreements with NAHCON and compliance with regulations set by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).
Passenger allocations and flight schedules will be determined in collaboration with state pilgrims’ welfare boards and the approved airlines.
NAHCON also directed the carriers to comply with all Hajj 2027 regulations, including linking passengers’ tickets to their Nusuk-Masar data and observing required safety standards.
Each pilgrim will be permitted to travel with one 32kg checked bag and one 8kg hand luggage, in line with the applicable regulations.
The commission urged all stakeholders to cooperate with the approved airlines to ensure a safe, smooth and comfortable airlift operation for Nigerian pilgrims.
