Elon Musk held a 48.4% stake in SpaceX as of June 30, according to a regulatory filing released Thursday.
The filing shows that Musk owns approximately 6.42 billion SpaceX shares and has sole voting and investment control over them. His holdings give him more than 82% of the company’s voting power, underscoring his strong influence over the space and artificial intelligence company.
Musk’s stake was valued at more than $900 billion based on SpaceX’s current market price.
SpaceX went public on June 12 in a record-setting initial public offering that raised $85.7 billion, pushing the company’s market value above $2 trillion. However, its valuation has since declined as investor enthusiasm cooled.
Musk’s holdings include shares held through trusts where he serves as trustee, restricted Class B shares held directly by him, and additional Class B shares that could become available through stock options.
SpaceX shares fell nearly 33% through the end of July, but have rebounded about 30% so far in August, following the company’s quarterly results and the expiry of its first post-IPO lock-up restriction.
Earlier this month, SpaceX reported its first quarterly earnings since going public, with revenue rising by more than 90% and a sharp increase in capital spending.
