Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max Brings 200MP Telephoto Camera and 100W Charging to Global Markets

Huawei has officially introduced the Pura 90s series for international markets, with the Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max serving as the flagship model.

The smartphone is essentially the global-market version of the China-exclusive Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max, with Huawei explaining that the “s” designation represents a special edition developed for markets outside mainland China. The biggest differences between the two models are expected to be related to software.

The Pura 90s Pro Max features a large 6.9-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1 billion colors, HDR support and a 1308 × 2880 resolution. The display also comes with an anti-reflective coating for improved visibility.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by Huawei's Kirin 9030S chipset and is available with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. It runs EMUI 16.

200MP Telephoto Camera

One of the phone's biggest highlights is its camera system. Huawei has equipped the Pura 90s Pro Max with a 200MP telephoto camera featuring a large 1/1.28-inch sensor, optical image stabilisation and 4x optical zoom.

The main camera is a 50MP sensor with a variable f/1.4–f/4.0 aperture and OIS, while the 40MP ultra-wide camera supports autofocus. A 13MP autofocus ultra-wide front camera handles selfies and video calls.

The rear camera can record video at up to 4K resolution at 30fps, with HDR, OIS and electronic stabilisation.

Large Battery and Fast Charging

The global version comes with a 6,000mAh battery, although the European model has a slightly smaller 5,500mAh capacity. Huawei supports 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging, along with 18W reverse wired charging and reverse wireless charging.

The device also features stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and an infrared port.

The phone measures 164.0 × 77.1 × 8.1mm and weighs 231 grams. It has a glass front and back with an aluminium frame and carries IP68/IP69 protection against dust and water.

Huawei is expected to include a 100W charger, charging cable and a clear protective case in the retail box.

With its large OLED display, powerful Kirin chipset, 200MP telephoto camera and high-speed charging, the Pura 90s Pro Max represents Huawei's top global offering in the Pura 90s lineup.
