The Omani government has summoned Iran's ambassador to Muscat and delivered a formal protest note following drone attacks that targeted sites in the governorates of Musandam and Al Wusta.
According to Oman's Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Mousa Farhang was received by Shaikh Khalid bin Hashil Al Musalhi, the ministry's Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs, who handed over the official protest.
During the meeting, Oman expressed deep concern over what it described as irresponsible actions, stressing the importance of respecting national sovereignty, maintaining good neighbourly relations, avoiding interference in the internal affairs of other countries, and upholding the principles that govern relations between the two neighbouring nations.
The protest comes amid heightened regional tensions, with Oman reaffirming its commitment to international law and peaceful relations with its neighbours.
