How to Apply for INEC's 2026 Nationwide Recruitment.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially opened its 2026 recruitment portal, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for entry-level positions across Grade Levels 07, 08, 09, 10 and 12.

According to the commission, the recruitment portal became active on July 20 and will remain open until July 27, 2026. The exercise is aimed at strengthening INEC's workforce to improve electoral administration, voter registration, election logistics and data management across the country.

Available Positions

INEC is recruiting professionals for several roles, including:

Accountants

Lawyers

ICT Officers

Engineers

Clinical Officers

Quantity Surveyors


Applicants for professional positions must possess relevant bachelor's degrees or equivalent qualifications. Some roles also require postgraduate degrees, professional certifications, at least two years of post-qualification experience, and an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

For the Administrative Officer II (Registration Area Officer) position on Grade Level 08, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree, HND or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

Applicants for the Executive Officer (Registration Officer) position on Grade Level 07 must possess an NCE or equivalent qualification, along with basic computer and data management skills.

General Requirements

Applicants must:

Be no older than 35 years.

Present a valid certificate of state of origin.

Be physically and mentally fit.

Have no criminal record.

Possess an NYSC discharge, exemption or exclusion certificate where applicable.

Be willing to work anywhere in Nigeria.

Interested candidates should:

1. Visit the official INEC recruitment portal and create an account.


2. Verify their email address.


3. Complete the online application form.


4. Upload all required documents, including academic certificates, passport photograph, birth certificate or declaration of age, O'Level results, local government identification, and NYSC certificate where applicable.


5. Review the application carefully before submitting it.


Important Notice

INEC emphasized that the recruitment process is completely free and warned applicants against paying anyone for employment offers. The commission also stated that submitted applications cannot be edited after submission and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next stage of the recruitment process.

Applicants are advised to complete and submit their applications before the July 27 deadline.
