Mali Plans Military Honors for Slain Defence Minister

Mali will hold a military parade as part of the funeral for its late defence minister, Sadio Camara, who was killed in a recent attack on his residence.

According to military authorities, the funeral will take place on Thursday at a military facility in the العاصمة Bamako. The ceremony will include a parade in honor of the minister before his burial.

President Assimi Goita is expected to attend the service, which will be held under tight security.

Camara, 47, died after a car bomb driven by a suicide attacker struck his home in Kati, following intense clashes between government forces, Tuareg separatists, and militant groups.

In a national address, President Goita described the late minister as a “brave officer” and said his death represents a significant loss to the country. The government has declared two days of national mourning in his honor.
