Life of the Final Messenger ﷺ – The Battle of al-Ahzab (Khandaq) by Mufti Menk.

This powerful lecture (Episode 20 of the series) focuses on one of the most critical and testing moments in the life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ — the Battle of al-Ahzab (the Confederates), also known as the Battle of the Trench.

Background of the Battle:

Mufti Menk explains that a massive coalition of enemies (Ahzab)—including Quraysh and allied tribes—gathered to attack Madinah. This was one of the greatest threats the Muslim community had ever faced. 

Instead of meeting them in open battle, the Prophet ﷺ adopted a defensive strategy after consultation (shura).

One of the highlights of the lecture is the contribution of Salman al-Farisi (RA), who suggested digging a trench—an unfamiliar tactic in Arabia.
