We have reiterated this fact that repentance is not only asking Allah's forgiveness or feeling remorse about past deeds or even deciding to relinquish an evil act in the future, but in addition to all these things the wrongdoer must put his best foot forward to amend the past.
Tawbah (repentance ) isn’t just about escaping Hell. It’s about returning to the One who never closed His door on you, (All mighty God).
Allah (S.W.T) in the holy Qur'an:
“Say: O My servants who have wronged their souls! Do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins...” — Surah Az-Zumar (39:53)
Through repentance, the door of mercy is opened and it's so long as we are not in the throes of death, for the Prophet (pbuh) said, “Allah accepts the repentance of His servant so long as death has not reached his collar bone.”
But since we have no way of knowing when death will overtake us, we must never be complacent or slack in hastening to taking steps towards repentance.
Therefore, your soul doesn’t need a grand gesture. It just needs sincerity. A whisper in the dark. A moment alone. A “Ya Allah… I’m ready to change.”
May ALLAH SWT accept our sincere repentance and have Mercy on us 🤲🏾
